The Spinal Reconstruction Shirt explores the intersection of classic shirting and wearable sculpture. Keeping the timeless front profile of archival shirting intact, the piece centers its structural intervention entirely on the reverse: a permanent, three-dimensional skeletal column created through continuous manual fabric interlocking.
Each shirt is individually gathered by hand, folding layers of crisp cotton poplin into dense, downward-pointing chevron nodes. This central cinch pulls fabric organically from the side seams, altering the silhouette and creating deep directional tension lines across the back.
